I just grabbed the 32bit 3.2 DVD torrent, and played with it for a few minutes on my desktop computer. Very nice.
When I tried it on my lapto though, it hung while booting. I restarted it, and switched to verbose mode to see if I could at least tell where it was going to die, and now I feel stupid for not paying more attention to it.
The first time it froze hard, and I couldn't switch between visual and verbose modes, nor toggle capslock. The second time it didn't get that bad, as I could still switch those things.
My first thought was that it did not support my not-so-fancy integrated video chipset (Intel GMA 950). But, it occurred to me that it hadn't gotten to the 3D accelerated desktop yet, so that's probably not it.
Should I just give it another 10 minutes to see if it will boot, or does it sound like something is failing?
Just for the record, the laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1300, and I've got experience with all of the major flavors of linux, FreeBSD, and friends.
