ouch
Ill tell you what it doesnt run well on, my 300mhz IBM 390e. Fluxbox is even lagged. I used to have Gentoo on here, but the compiling times were unbearable. But it did run well, becuase I had no system bloat.

Dell XPS M1710
Hello. I have a Dell XPS M1710 and almost all features work on the laptop out of the box. I have yet to come across any large problems that are unique to my system.
Pavilion dv 6000
works fine in my pavilion dv6000:
turion x2
2GB RAM
120 GB HDD
DVD-RW DL
Nvidia GeForce 7200
Wireless Broadcom
etc...
It's not absolutely "out-of-the-box" cuz you have to fight with some features like wireless, the built-in webcam and microphones and stuff like that. So except for the "tuning" part works really good

the hp dv9000 isnt too bad, amd 64x2 turion 1gb ram nvidia graphics......but the broadcom wireless is a bit of a problem, i ended up just buying a new wireless card to put in it and i still havent gotten the built in webcam workin. i do have some problems with kde and beryl but i think those are just problems with the apps themselves. i have a great deal of trouble getting a few of the linux distros to install and run on this pc but sabayon has been the best so far for sure.

I've got a Dell Inspiron 6000, running 1.5 G/Hz, 1024 MB RAM, 1 MB cache, 100GB HDD, and crappy 256 MB intel 915GM graphics (blew all my money on everything else). Sabayon works almost perfectly out of the box. I have a bit of trouble with NetworkManager not picking up on the wireless (easily fixed in 5 min), and I have to tweak the xorg.conf to get my touchpad working correctly. But, other than those minor things it works great. I've been using Gentoo for a couple years, and I just recently came across Sabayon. It really makes it much less of a pain to install than my normal 3 day delve into installing Gentoo. It would be nice, however, if during the install there was an option for package selection. Personally, I'm a GNOME fan, and cannot stand the K-Desktop Environment. So, after the painless install I spend an hour or two, unmerging package after package. But, I can't complain too much, it gives me a fully functional Gentoo system in about an hour.
