How to edit a Sabayon 5.0 iso?

Post by aaloise » Fri Oct 16, 2009 15:30

Is there a way I can personalize the KDE Sabayon 5.0 iso? I want to include a firware in the iso because without that firware is not possible to install Sabayon in the Hard Drive, the live DVD doesn't recognize it... is the aic94xx-seq.fw, the aic94xx firmware.

How can I insert this firware in the /lib/firmware of that iso?

I used isomaster do edito de iso, replaced de livecd.squashfs, but that wasn´t enough cause the new iso was not bootable... I will give a try to unetbootin e post the results here...

Well, unetbootin worked, but the bootable usb device only works on the machine that i used to create the new bootable iso. Any idea why this happens? I´m stuck now cause it´s really important i can boot the usb device on another machine, a server who is causing me all that work...

Another question. Why most (or all) linux distributions does not include the aic94xx module firmware, the aic94xx-seq.fw? I figured tha this happens not only with Sabayon, it´s really a hard work to get it done by myself...

So... Any ideas how to proceed now? :D
