Wacom Intuos 4 L support not available?

Post by msdobrescu » Tue Mar 07, 2017 21:53

Hello,

I have a Wacom Intuos 4 L. It is not recognized or not supported by KDE Wacom Tablet Settings applets (in KDE Settings and KDE applet from system tray).

I can get only this:

Code: Select all

xsetwacom --list devices
Wacom Intuos4 8x13 Pen stylus id: 10 type: STYLUS
Wacom Intuos4 8x13 Pad pad id: 11 type: PAD
Wacom Intuos4 8x13 Pen eraser id: 13 type: ERASER
Wacom Intuos4 8x13 Pen cursor id: 14 type: CURSOR
What can I do further in order to get it configurable in KDE?

Thank you.

Thanks, but I have these already, of course. I wouldn't ask if it worked already.
I will re-install them this evening to see if this fixes something.

No, re-installing still can't find the tablet.

"This widget is inactive because your tablet device is not connected or currently not supported".

"No tablet device detected
Please connect a tablet device to continue.
If your device is already connected it is currently unsupported."

Code: Select all

lsusb | grep -i wacom
Bus 008 Device 002: ID 056a:00ba Wacom Co., Ltd PTK-840 [Intuos4 (8x13)]

Code: Select all

s /dev/input/
by-id by-path event0 event1 event10 event11 event12 event13 event14 event15 event16 event17 event18 event19 event2 event20 event3 event4 event5 event6 event7 event8 event9 js0 mice mouse0 mouse1

Code: Select all

xsetwacom --list devices
Wacom Intuos4 8x13 Pen stylus id: 10 type: STYLUS
Wacom Intuos4 8x13 Pad pad id: 11 type: PAD
Wacom Intuos4 8x13 Pen eraser id: 13 type: ERASER
Wacom Intuos4 8x13 Pen cursor id: 14 type: CURSOR

Code: Select all

xsetwacom --get "Wacom Intuos4 8x13" all
Cannot find device 'Wacom Intuos4 8x13'.
Might be taken as mouse, as it behaves as such, the mouse pointer reacts to the pen movement on its surface.

Additionally:

Code: Select all

kde_wacom_tabletfinder
"Tablet database configuration file 'tabletdblocalrc' does not exist or is not accessible!"
"tablet 00BA not in local db"
Bu it sees a Wacom Intuos4 8x13 tablet.

I can't help you but you can take a look at https://github.com/tb2097/wacom-gui

Thanks, this also throws some errors, I can't make it run.

This, along with some good KDE and Plasma 5 applications not ported to Qt 5, Inkscape failing in various points and features broken for years, I feel my work using Linux is falling apart...
