Issues Related to Hardware (Sound, Video, Printers, Scanners, Webcams, Touchpads, Keyboards, Sensors, Drives, GRUB, etc.)
I am a newbie with a fresh install of Sabayon, and its great except: no sound. I already posted in the Newbie forum under a similar issue that was resolved by selecting the sound card under "Select Master Channel" in the sound options. I have done that, but it didn't work for me. So I want to post here as well.
I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-fi with headphones plugged directly into it. I also have a video card with HDMI output, but I have selected my sound card as the "master channel" for audio playback. I do not have "Mute" engaged.
I also tried running "alsaconf" in the Terminal, resulting in a "command not found" error. I can run "alsamixer", and I see my sound card in there.
I know my hardware is OK because I dual boot my machine.
Thanks for any help!

Have you checked all the volume levels in alsamixer?
I remember you that you can change the device displayed in alsamixer with the f6 button, and you can mute and unmute the channels with the 'm' key.
