streaming videos [Solved]

Postby papilello » Sun Feb 16, 2014 21:17

I'm experiencing some problems viewing youtube videos: both video and audio proceed in jerky way, even if I try to reduce the resolution.
I don't have such problems with videos and music stored in my hard disk.
My hardware is old, a Dell Inspiron 1100, and my desktop is MATE and works well.
Have you any suggestions for best viewing of streaming videos videos with my PC?

If you're using the Firefox, Chromium or Opera browsers, I recommend the add-on YouTube Center. With it you can disable DASH in YouTube and get Firefox to buffer the entire video while you have Pause selected in YouTube, then play the video. See the following article for further details: ... buffering/

With chromium, some also report that the buffering takes ages, or even stop., and that removing the youtube cookie will solve that.
Or the chromium extension "smart video", for slow connections: ... pcddinpjjp

I'm using SmartVideo right now and it goes really better than before!
The article on was very interesting too!

Thank so much to both of you :D
