Usb devices not showing when opening caja as root! [Solved]

Post by eor2004 » Tue Sep 17, 2013 15:03

Hi friends, I got a little problem here, and is as follows, I have an external hdd with XFS Filesystem on it, when I connect the ext hdd to computer the files show but I cannot copy them to my pc because caja complains that I'm not the owner, that I don't have necessary permissions to copy files, but when I open caja as root, caja doesn't want to show the ext hdd files on it, in fact, the ext hdd doesn't appear to be mounted (but it is).

Normally, opening dolphin or caja as root works fine in other distros, but in sabayon it isn't working, anybody got any clue what's to be done?

I have figured out what to do, I installed dolphin file manager, did a Alt+F2 "kdesu Dolphin" and asigned the permissions of the files in the external hdd to "Read & Write" to "User".
