Samsung Galaxy Young not detected [Solved]

Postby TDKyon » Sat May 11, 2013 6:26

Hello everyone

Yesterday purchased my very first touch screen phone called Samsung Galaxy Young. I don't know how to work with it *still* , but I can't get it to work on sabayon. I see the usb icon on top of my phone screen which says that I am connected but Sabayon can't detect it. Please if anyone is having touch screen phone to guide me how to get it detected so I can transfer some programs (gps programs) to it, got SD adaptor but want to have access to the phone via usb cable. Here is my lsusb output:

Like other Samsung Android phones, I expect yours uses MTP via USB. Various approaches are given in the Gentoo Forums thread [Solved] Galaxy S3 and MTP. As your phone has WiFi connectivity, I can recommend AirDroid via wireless, which is what I use with my Samsung Galaxy Note II (AirDroid, a handy Android app for managing your phone from Linux).
