Radeon HD 4200 Problems [Solved]

After installing Sabayon XFCE on HP Pavilion p7-1007c, I get some wierd glitchy lines at the bottom when i boot into sabyaon, not login screen, no Desktop, just the splash screen. It has a Radeon HD 4200

you changed the video driver? from the default xf86-video-ati?

Because if i remember, the new proprietary drivers, the ati-drivers, present in the new Sabayons CANNOT WORKS with the boards series 4..., you should use the default drivers.

Ahh, so i should install the default drivers, i will try too, or should i copy the live cd's XORG.CONF to the installed one?

The default that i said is the Free Driver, xf86-video-ati. Try it.

the default ati-drivers of Sabayon, in the repos, are the proprietary drivers, but i have in mind that they not works in the series 4xxx boards.

The live CD apears not contain any xorg.conf. It can be generated by the command:

Both kind of drivers works in mine ATI, but it is an Radeon ATI 5420. Proprietary drivers are better in glxgears and GPU, bu the free drivers are better in Compiz and more easy to use.

All i get at the end of the emerges is errno 30, or FATAL module fglx not found after env-update && source /etc/profile

Why are you using emerge? Sabayon Linux package manager is entropy:

Still errno 30 ( i think it said read only filesystem or something)
