Mouse preferences utility fails to start [Solved]

Post by farfnarf » Sat Jul 11, 2009 1:03

After installing a mouse cursor theme successfully by draging the downloaded tar.bz2 to the Themes
utility window the mouse utility won't start.

It sits in the panel for several seconds but the utility won't come up. I need to change it to left
handed and checking the left hand box in gconf-editor does not work.

A complete removal and then re-install of the Gnome mouse preferences utility solved the problem and it starts and functions normally now.

I still do not know what caused it to not work, though.
