USB RS232 Converter

Postby chsims1 » Sat Jul 12, 2008 10:00

Hi, I am trying to use a USB to RS232 converter lead, which is recognised by the OS as shown by lsusb:

Code: Select all
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 04b4:5500 Cypress Semiconductor Corp. HID->COM RS232 Adapter

but dmesg indicates an error:

Code: Select all
[  896.143985] usb 2-2.3: new low speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
[  897.242305] usb 2-2.3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[  897.242926] usb 2-2.3: can't set config #1, error -32

How do I play around with the config ... not something I'm familiar with. Any ideas folks?
