msi board with nvidia chipset

Postby carpenterguy » Sat May 31, 2008 19:13

Thought this would be easy to fix. When I go to nvidia driver downloads it wants to download graphics driver that I don't need. Hoping someone can provide a link or suggestion. Back to google I go. I have found a little info, nothing that helps yet. I have to give thumbs up to sabayon, I am posting on this box wireless. With all the lspci issues, have no idea how sabayon keeps it going. Other distros failed.

So what is the problem? None?

Make sure you are using the package manager if you do installs or updates. See the wiki for more info

Sorry, problems. Ethernet does not work, sound does not work, ide drive does not work, running sata drives they work. I am new and may not know how to read the lspci correctly. Just saying besides the issues I mentioned this box is running fairly well but have had some strange things happen with no error messages. other then the ultimate disk boot I get a kernel panic with a EIP error. mint, and pclinuxos have loaded from live cd but not consistent. usually fail with a blank screen. I run a usb kvm switch, when they fail switches me back to other box. Suspect a usb driver issue? Have not tried front usb ports. Put the box together yesterday and still trying to get a handle on all issues.
