Intel G965 Resolution Problem

I am some what new to the Saybayon dist. I can not seem to get the resolution to 1280 x 800.

Specs.
Sony Vaio vgn-120e Laptop
Intel g965 Graphics
Saybayon Loop 2 x86 - x64

Can anyone tell me where to begin?

did you try modifying /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

That should work. If it doesn't, that most likely means that our drivers or your card doesn't support that resolution - you can try running emerge (our equivalent of apt-get install and yum install) to get the new drivers if you search for the name first.

yeah I edited the xorg.conf (seen below) no luck. Compiz works fine, opengl, all the good stuff. But still the highest resolution im able to get is 1024x768. I will try the emerge. Its a shame Sabayon looks like the best distro ive come across. Previously I was using Ultimate Ubuntu. everything worked fine buttttt nothing sabayon. Anyways I will try emerge and let everyone know if it works out.

the # before a line means that that line is commented out - if you want your changes to take effect you need to remove the pound sign ;)
