Sound blaster & ndiswrapper problem

Postby dkmaster » Sat Feb 23, 2008 18:32

Hi. I am new to linux and I don't Know much. I have installed Sabayonlinux 3.4f and I have the following problems.

First problem is that I have an onboard sound card but it is disabled from bios because I use a sound blaster audigy card.
When the setup o Sabayon was finished I had no sound and I don't Know how to see if the card is recognized by sabayon.

Second problem is that I have also installed ndiswrapper and I installed the driver but the .inf file. When I do ndiswrapper -l it says invalid driver.
At ubuntu I had to manually copy two sys files to the etc/ndiswrapper folder but here at the gentoo based system I don't know what to do.

thank you for your help in advance.

so how did you install the driver? Huh?

You should be able to

ndiswrapper -i /path/to/driver.inf

and that should install the file. No copying of files should be necessary.

You may need to run alsa-conf to get your soundcard working. No much help there sorry.
