How do i instal my soundcard

Postby grim_reaper » Mon Jan 07, 2008 12:23

Hello

i am a bit new with Linux, i can work with it but i don't know much about installing drivers and such jet.
most of the stuff works like my graphics and such. but now i cant get my sound working properly.
could someone help me with a tutorial or just tell me what to do.

i have a on board sound cart
my motherboard is a asus p5b
i need microphone support and normal sound.
is it also possible to let my Linux detect what i put into the sound card
just as in windows.

i run sabayon Linux so i must be in the right place.

as root, type alsaconf in a terminal, if your card is detected it will set it up for you, then run alsamixer to set the levels
