USB Printer disabled when connected [Solved]

Post by andreios » Wed Aug 01, 2018 8:03

My USB Printer is often disconnected or off. But it is always disabled on reconnect or turning on and I have to enable it manually. Could this be set somewhere to always auto enable?

See the following page for how to create a shell script to re-enable your printer: https://linuxgazette.net/147/misc/lg/2_ ... ueues.html

( Don't forget to make it executable: chmod +x /home/andreios/<name-of-script> )

Then see the following page for how to create a udev rule that would automatically run the above-mentioned shell script whenever you plug in the USB printer to your PC, or whenever you power up the printer connected to the PC: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/418 ... th-a-direc
