Portage upgrade issue and other problems

Postby MattyC. » Mon Dec 29, 2014 11:31

Hello everyone, I'm experiencing some problems in my Sabayon system.

First of all, during last upgrades, Portage seems to be not installed properly: it was asked to report this, so I did this post, here some logs of the package installation:

Code: Select all
╠  +++ >>>  (138/317) sys-apps/portage-2.2.14
╠    ## Scompattamento: sys-apps:portage-2.2.14.1e5bf48b5cd9927850f22b355041ef41f3503f63~0.tbz2

╠    ## Fase pacchetto: postinstall
[sys-apps/portage-2.2.14] bash: /usr/lib64/portage/bin/ebuild.sh: No such file or directory
 * The ebuild phase 'postinst' has exited unexpectedly. This type of
 * behavior is known to be triggered by things such as failed variable
 * assignments (bug #190128) or bad substitution errors (bug #200313).
 * Normally, before exiting, bash should have displayed an error message
 * above. If bash did not produce an error message above, it's possible
 * that the ebuild has called `exit` when it should have called `die`
 * instead. This behavior may also be triggered by a corrupt bash binary or
 * a hardware problem such as memory or cpu malfunction. If the problem is
 * not reproducible or it appears to occur randomly, then it is likely to
 * be triggered by a hardware problem. If you suspect a hardware problem
 * then you should try some basic hardware diagnostics such as memtest.
 * Please do not report this as a bug unless it is consistently
 * reproducible and you are sure that your bash binary and hardware are
 * functioning properly.
/bin/bash: /usr/lib64/portage/bin/misc-functions.sh: No such file or directory
 * The ebuild phase 'die_hooks' has exited unexpectedly. This type of
 * behavior is known to be triggered by things such as failed variable

╠    ## Ricaricamento moduli Portage...

╠    ## Pulizia: sys-apps/portage-2.2.14

Then, here we are with the main problem of my system: the boot phase went wrong, but I'm still able to log-in, and from now on, I'm not able to suspend, or reboot, or shutdown the system; also, considering that I've an Nvidia GPU with Optimus technology, the command I usually do to start the discrete card (optirun blabla) didn't work anymore, with no logs.
dmesg is full of errors, you will see.

Here I provide some logs:

I'm on a notebook ASUS K53S, with Nvidia GPU (GeForce GT 520MX), intel core i7 2630qm, last version of Sabayon, kernel 3.17.
Thanks to everybody for your time.

EDIT: Seems that this problem is due to Nvidia Drivers, and it affects kernels with a version >= 15 (in fact, with a rollback to 3.15 the problem was apparently solved: actually it appears with less frequency that in newer kernels).
Let's see if anyone has the same problem.
