glsa-check -f all !!! Digest verification failed [Solved]

Postby franciscok » Mon Nov 26, 2007 4:41

Hi all.
It's my first time in Sabayon, portage, gentoo, emerge... :alien:

After install Sabayon DVD3.4f i followed this instructions:
http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.php?title=Tips

Once you've installed Sabayon, and you'd like to stabilize your package manager (emerge/portage), use the following commands. Open a terminal, and run these commands as root using either su or sudo, depending on your preference.

emerge --sync

After running emerge --sync you will likely need to run emerge portage and then

dispatch-conf
layman -S
glsa-check -f all
dispatch-conf

when i run the command "glsa-check -f all", verification fail:

02:11:52 (112.18 KB/s) - `/usr/portage/distfiles/flash_player_9_linux_dev.tar.gz' saved [8820378/8820378]

* checking ebuild checksums ;-) ... [ ok ]
* checking auxfile checksums ;-) ... [ ok ]
* checking miscfile checksums ;-) ... [ ok ]
* checking install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz ;-) ... [ ok ]
* checking flash_player_9_linux_dev.tar.gz ;-) ... [ !! ]

!!! Digest verification failed:
!!! /usr/portage/distfiles/flash_player_9_linux_dev.tar.gz
!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size
!!! Got: 8820378
!!! Expected: 8820435

What should i do?

----------

And another thing.
To remove a software i found two ways:
emerge --unmerge torcs
emerge --depclean
and
emerge -c torcs

What's better? I want to uninstall the games to free some space.

Thanks!
Francisco

I'm using
9.0.48.0-r1

emerge netscape-flash
upgraded from netscape-flash-9.0.31.0 to netscape-flash-9.0.60.0_beta100107

another problem now:
"glsa-check -f all"

>>> Emerging (1 of 1) media-video/realplayer-10.0.9 to /

!!! media-video/realplayer-10.0.9 has fetch restriction turned on.
!!! This probably means that this ebuild's files must be downloaded
!!! manually. See the comments in the ebuild for more information.

* Download RealPlayer manually from Real's website at
* https://player.helixcommunity.org/2005/downloads/
*
* Choose Linux/x86 Releases: RealPlayer 10.0.9 Gold: RPM
* https://helixcommunity.org/projects/pla ... nload/2479
*
* Then place the file RealPlayer-10.0.9.809-20070726.i586.rpm
* into /usr/portage/distfiles and restart the emerge.
* Fetch failed for 'media-video/realplayer-10.0.9'

* Messages for package media-video/realplayer-10.0.9:

* Fetch failed for 'media-video/realplayer-10.0.9'

I'm a debian user, "glsa-check -f all" is like "apt-get upgrade", right?

no - it's only deals with security and I am sure you don't want the beta flash either - it fails to work properly, hence the beta

Read:

as for your other problem
* Download RealPlayer manually from Real's website at
* https://player.helixcommunity.org/2005/downloads/
*
* Choose Linux/x86 Releases: RealPlayer 10.0.9 Gold: RPM
* https://helixcommunity.org/projects/pla ... nload/2479
*
* Then place the file RealPlayer-10.0.9.809-20070726.i586.rpm
* into /usr/portage/distfiles and restart the emerge.

read the error messages and do as it tells you
