how to have a clean sabayonLinux System

Postby johnny_matt » Sat Nov 03, 2007 3:25

Hi Everyone ,
I have tried to solve this problem with all the ability of my knowledge. Although I am still very new in using sabayonLinux.
Please I wondered if anyone could explain the solution of how to get my system up to date.
The below error is what I got when I ran the emerge

emerge -e system || until emerge --resume --skipfirst; do emerge --resume --skipfirst; done && emerge -e world || until emerge --resume --skipfirst; do emerge --resume --skipfirst; done

Your gonna have to learn portage and work thru the blocks and bumps. I would highly suggest getting to know your OS first before doing a world update. A world update on 3.4 is not easy, too many changes in portage.

Remember your already running latest as this runs out of the unstable branch.

Yes. I am just doing some stunts anyway. I love SabayonLinux because of its easy to install Desktop. But I have managed to scape through the hard corner with the help of portato. I will get in touch again if anything difficult comes my way.
Thanks for your reply.
