libgtk-1.2 missing at the repository

Postby lorenzomaceiras » Mon Oct 01, 2007 18:11

libgtk-1.2 is needed to install Turboprint. It must be available, as it is in the other distros like ubuntu or pclinuxos. How can I install it alternatively?

Those are the messages post emerge -av "gtk+:1" and reinstall Turboprint:

* gtk library NOT found
* gdk library NOT found (part of gtk)
* gmodule library NOT found (part of gtk)
* gmodule library NOT found (part of gtk)

I bet it is looking in the wrong pathes ...
But I saw (here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61311) that there is an ebuild for it ... just do:
Code: Select all
layman -a xwing
emerge -av turboprint

Then you should have turboprint installed w/o having to do it manually ...

You need to set the "gtk" useflag to get GUI elements ...

open up /etc/make.conf as root and add gtk to the USE= line

or

USE="gtk" emerge -av turboprint
