world update trying to emerge package that's masked

Postby Brian_X7 » Sat Sep 22, 2007 21:23

Here's something that I'm not understanding, below says that all >=dev-libs/glib-2.14 have been masked. It also says
that it's a dependency of x11-libs/pango-1.18.2. However pango-1.18.2 is masked, so how is this happening?

I've got gtk+-1.2.10-r12 and gtk+-2.10.14 installed. with gtk+-2.10.14 installed, shouldn't I unmask glib-2.14?

Code: Select all
localhost profiles # emerge -uDNv world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating world dependencies -
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=dev-libs/glib-2.14" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- dev-libs/glib-2.14.1 (masked by: package.mask)
/usr/portage/profiles/package.mask:
# Rémi Cardona <remi@gentoo.org> (21 Sep 2007)
# gtk+-2.12 and relevant deps

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
refer to the Gentoo Handbook.
(dependency required by "x11-libs/pango-1.18.2" [ebuild])

!!! Problem resolving dependencies for x11-drivers/xf86-input-magictouch
!!! Depgraph creation failed.
localhost profiles #

Thanks

Thanks wolf, so if that's unmasked then glib-2.14.1 should be unmasked as well, correct?
