uninstall fails on sabayon be1.0

Post by shinatosh » Tue Sep 11, 2007 15:38

Hi.

After installing Sabayon BE 1.0, i wanted to uninstall packages which I'm sure i wont need. Good examples are kmag, kmousetool, krfb, klamav, etc. So I did the RTFM thing, and ended up here:

Code: Select all

emerge -C kmag

 kde-base/kmag
    selected: 3.5.5
   protected: none
     omitted: none

>>> 'Selected' packages are slated for removal.
>>> 'Protected' and 'omitted' packages will not be removed.

>>> Waiting 5 seconds before starting...
>>> (Control-C to abort)...
>>> Unmerging in: 5 4 3 2 1
>>> Unmerging kde-base/kmag-3.5.5...
No package files given... Grabbing a set.

And guess what. Nothing happened. I can still run kmag, all the files are present. SUX.
But if i do:

emerge kmag; emerge -C kmag then uninstall is successfull.

So i decided to recompile all the packages i have, and then uninstall what id dont need, if it is the way it works. But no. Nor through kuroo, nor through emerge in console can I recompile packages, as portage complains all over masked dependencies. Update system, and world doesnt good enough, as it is also complaining about masked dependencies, and also it only recompiles packages marked as system or world, but not all, thus it leaves me with some not recompiled packages, which i cant remove.
So the question is: how in the hell i do remove packages?!

Thanks for Your help in advance:
