Snow animated wallpaper

Post by msdobrescu » Mon Dec 12, 2016 18:58

Hi,

The snow effect was gone from KDE long time ago...
There is a new animated wallpaper here: https://github.com/IvanSafonov/plasma-wallpaper-snow
Could anybody tell me how to build and install it?

Thank you.

Well.. I've created a directory in /usr/share/plasma/wallpapers/org.kde.snow/ and I've copied the files under the 'snow' directory of the git repository into it.
I've set some background and increased the snowflakes speed to 100 px/s and it's done!

Merry Xmas everywhere celebrated!

Don't mention it!
It is there since last year, not many noticing it.
Even me, I was looking for something like that at the time, participating in the topic and still, found it one year later.
Needs some adjustments for my 2K monitor, still...

I have noticed that my CPU runs a bit warmer when using this animated snow effect.

Possibly, it constantly work on this animation, I don't know if it depends on Cuda or some 3D card. I'll see.
