Archbang is also doing a No systemd and No GTK version. pure QT, still in the alpha stages.

I wonder why the developers opted to use OpenRC for that spin, especially considering that Arch and Archbang use systemd by default.

my guess is that something in systemd pulled in some GTK stuff in the Arch universe.

My understanding is 'Mr Green' the head of Archbang sees the light of, if you are not GNOME I don't want you to use GTK and will be running both a GTK and a QT ISO cuncurrently till GTK craps the bed if you are not GNOME.

It's rough at the moment but I imagine it will be solid in a couple of releases.
