When I first run the system, the icons in task manager (window icon plus name of app) are the height of the panel. After some time of usage, all of a sudden, the icons shrink in height. If you leave the system on for long enough and use it for long enough, the height shrinks to even less than the height of the descriptive text and eventually goes to just a few pixels, which makes it useless.
The other icons in the panel (compiz, system tray, info, etc. etc.) stay at their normal height. This only affects the task manager widget.
I've reinstalled the task manager widget but that doesn't change anything. It also doesn't matter how many (or few) applications I have running.
Has anybody come across this problem?
Compiz, KDE, Gnome, Fluxbox, etc...

No, I've never experienced that behaviour with the KDE Task Manager widget on the Panel. But if it is troubling you, you could remove the Task Manager widget from the Panel and replace it with the Smooth Tasks widget, to see how you get on with that.
