Updating it? Compiz-fusion or the drivers?

I'm trying to follow the guide located here for updating compiz fusion: viewtopic.php?f=53&t=9882&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

But I'm having a hard time following it. Do I do that stuff at the beginning, in the quotation marks, or so I skip to where it says follow the guide below...Also, when I try to start where it says follow the guide below, I find that there is nothing in that file that looks anything remotely like you posted, and kate won't let me save anything...

I'm trying to, but I've run into a permissions problem. I posted in that thread.

I can't move the script into the /usr/bin dir because I don't have permission to write to that folder, just as I don't have permission to add that code to the /etc/portage/package.keywords

I went ahead and did about everything else it said with no problems, up until it asked me to move the script I made into the /usr/bin/ dir

Thanks, I got help on another thread on how to do that.

I got through the update, but unfortunately everything is the same is before. I can't figure out whats making it so laggy, and why it only seems to have to do with some plugins...the desktop cube works fine, as does the screen warble, however anything to do with the windows and clunky, and there is a noticable delay between when I click to minimize, and when the minimization actually occurs...

Scratching my head at why this could be...I'll try and find out what drivers 7.10 uses, and see if they're any different than sabayon's...maybe that might be doing it?

Thanks for the help so far.

Can't seem my desktop acceleration to work.. Accel-manager says openGL is working with Nvidia 7600GS, and most current drivers. Every time I try to enable AIGLX, it just reverts back to "No Desktop Acceleration".
