What about dwm?

Post by rpil » Sun Aug 15, 2010 13:05

I use Gnome and Fluxbox in my Sabayon laptop and recently I decided to try dwm. I don't want to replace my Gnome/Enlightenment desktop with dwm, I just want to give it a try.
I downloaded the packages dwm and dmenu, I found it at my boot screen, I chose it, I saw the dwm desktop, my mouse moves but nothing happens! Nor menu, nor any keyboard shortcut activity. Does anybody knows how it works?

I found this quote on their web page (http://dwm.suckless.org/)
Because dwm is customized through editing its source code, it’s pointless to make binary packages of it. This keeps its userbase small and elitist. No novices asking stupid questions. There are some distributions that provide binary packages though.
Sounds like it may be a candidate for dropping from Entropy. :D
