which is the name of application that show "osd volume control" in KDE 4 ???

Not sure what you're referring to. Do you mean the KMix audio mixer? If not, please explain what it looks like and what it does.

I have that too, and it works out-of-the-box when I install SL. Anyway, here's how to (try to) set it up manually:

Kickoff > Computer > System Settings | Computer Administration | Keyboard & Mouse | Global Keyboard Shortcuts

Click on Decrease Volume. If the radio button 'Default: Volume Down' is selected but the Decrease Volume key on your keyboard does not have any effect then click on the 'Custom:' radio button and click on None and then press the key that you want to use to decrease the volume. Repeat the procedure for 'Increase Volume'.

As I wrote above, I didn't have to do any of this for my laptop, it was already configured upon installation of SL. So I hope you can get it working.
