Postby ste180783 » Wed May 20, 2009 22:34

hello everybody!! Sabayon is awesome and Compiz is great!!

i have a problem with Compiz Fusion only with Water Plug-in, the plugin is on but don't work, shift F9 and nothing happens.
it seems to be a problem with XGL, but i'm not sure.

Another question:
i love the snow plug-in but in ccsm this plug-in is missing. How can i install it?

i'm sorry for bad english, i'm italian...

thanks in advance

Hi,
yesterday i installed Xdesktopwaves to simulate the compiz water effect but when I start the app, nothing happen, just like in compiz water effect.

I think the problem is in XGL as I said before, but when i try to launch "/sbin/xgl-setup enable" to enable XGL, the path is missing...

anyone can help me?

sorry, you're right...
My notebook is a Compaq Presario C700, Intel graphic card, 2gb ram, 1.80 ghz proc.

Compiz Fusion works great on my notebook, only the water effect not working.

I have also installed Low-fat and Kiba-dock and they works without problems.

A) XGL? Nooo, not needed anymore, evil hacky stuff that.
B) Do a search in spritz for the plugins.
C) Do you have wobbly windows?
D) Make sure "compiz" is your window manager

B) Do a search in spritz for the plugins.

the plugin "Snow" is in x11-plugins/compiz-plugins-unsupported, but there isn't in Spritz

C) Do you have wobbly windows?

yes

D) Make sure "compiz" is your window manager

yes

Is there any compiz plugin that allows you to flip back windows and stick notes behind it? I saw it somewhere but I don't remember where...

^Are you sure you're not thinking of Sun's desktop environment called Looking Glass? With that you can put post-it notes on the back of windows (although I can't think of why anyone would want to do that).

It's possible that I confused looking glass with compiz... but I still thought they have the same capabilities about sticky notes.

Thank you!!
