How to log in without password/automatically?

I have tried a lot after going to KDE Control Centre and Convenience and did everythng to disable the password the OS asks whenever I log in but I could not succeed as yet. Please guide me how to do that. Thanks :)

KDE Control Center ==>> System Administration ==>> Login Manager ==>> Click "Administrator Mode" button at bottom ==>> Convenience ==>> Check box for Automatic login

If someone who has the pod version wants to respond about how to do this in xfce, that would be good -- I just remember that it's more complex in xfce
