Compiz Fusion will not start no matter what I do.

I just emerged the newest version of Compiz on my machine (yes, I followed the guide) and I cannot get it to work no matter what I do.

If I simply try to start Compiz by running "compiz --replace ccp" I get a segfault.

If I start fusion-icon in a terminal, I don't see anything either.
Here is the exact output of that:

When I try to run "compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp" by itself in a terminal, I just get a segfault.

I am 99% positive that I built everything correctly; I recompiled my kernel and reinstalled all of the packages AND my video drivers (169.12) after I couldn't get it to work the first time.
I tried an older video driver (169.09) but nothing happened.
I can run all OpenGL games fine, and I get like 20,000fps in glxgears.

does fusion-icon work? are your versions of emerald, compiz-fusion, and fusion icon compatible? When using fusion-icon, does switching to compiz cause a fallback on your fallback manager, or a complete death of the window manager, or a complete death of fusion-icon and the window manager?
