Gnome freezes on logout

Postby Hunter2 » Sun Dec 30, 2007 1:47

Hi,
I've found that clicking 'Logout' on the Gnome menu causes the GUI to freeze, until I ctrl-alt-backspace to kill the X server (at which point gdm reloads it, and I can successfully log in again). Anyone know what might be wrong? I'm using Sabayon 3.4f DVD install.

have you updated Compiz-Fusion? It was an issue for some with 3.4 and C-F and updating C-F seemed to fix it for most. I had the same problem on 3.4

Ah, I see - just to doublecheck, is that a simple matter of emerge --sync, layman -S, and emerge compiz-fusion? And are there any compelling new features of C-F that I might want to risk my current setup for, besides fixing logout?

Thanks.
