I am running gkrellm with the invisible theme in the upper right hand corner and under that is the liquid weather and the one on the left hand side of the screen is info sist

Does anyone know if you can get periodically changing wallpapers on KDE/Gnome? It comes with OSX and I think it is pretty cool.

what was it called? if it works on osx might be a good chance for linux

I am only familiar with screensavers that rotate thru pics.

It isn't called anything... you just go to the "Change Desktop Background" dialogue and you can choose a folder and choose the interval between the time...

Maybe KDE/XGL already has it somewhere?

well right click on the KDE desktop >>> Configure Desktop>>> Background>>> select sideshow would probably be it

This was done on Knoppix before OS X adopted it...should be done in KDE not sure about Gnome

that feature is actually built right in to KDE... the feature is called "Slide Show" and it's located in same window you change the desktop wallpaper in :wink:
