Have enlarged the ibar one size up and (shame this doesn't show) added some animated icons
tried installing the "night bling" theme and at 04:30am the whole WM went tits up with segmentation faults (delete all and start again)
how I installed/reinstalled it was, added Enlightenment overlay using this webpage http://overlays.gentoo.org/dev/vapier/w ... ightenment
then did an "emerge e" mainly because this adds an entry to KDM
then used the EasyE17.sh script from this page http://omicron.homeip.net/projects/
the script installs everything in the right order but to a different location so the KDM entry still does not work and the
only way I can start it is a console logon and then "startx" I'm still trying to reconfigure it
Oh an bye-the -way many thanks to Asterthoth, Wolfden & Eden for their patience and help getting thus far ;-)

Ok fixed the login by adding DISPLAYMANAGER="entrance" to /etc/rc.conf but bye bye to kde ;-)
for UK keyboard just enter "setxkbmap gb" at CLI, or edit command to ~/.elxstrt
I got it working with gdm and it should work with kdm -- I'll post a how I did post later today - I need sleep.

Decided to bite the bullet and install the "Darkness" theme, hopefully E17 wont go tits-up this time ;-)
at least with this the pager displays the apps properly. Animated icons work, and the clock has the moon phase on it

Ok this is still SL 3.5 Loop 3 (E17 as per the guide in the how-to's)

coz it's still working faultlessly an if upgrading spoils my desktop now Grrrr...

Had a brief flirtation with OpenSUSE 11 on a test laptop and did an upgrade to KDE 4.1 RC1 last night
result

KDE 4.1 RC1 is a BIG improvement, I just can't get my head round Yast2 and even "zypper" can't replace portage
Jeez no nano in terminal ;,-(
