As of now, I think it is much more time/headache effective to just nuke the bcm43xx driver in the kernel, recompile, ndiswrapper the bcmwl5.inf and be done with it. The bcm43xx drivers in the kernel are suX0rs. They are just totally broken. (not a knock on you SL devs, you guys have nothing to do with these crappy drivers
). For fewer headaches, recompile the kernel (via the wiki) at menuconfig you should

I actually got rid of ALL the native linux kernel modules/drivers for the broadcom and just diswrappered the windows driver.
Looks like Dell wants better support for wireless cards.... Hmmmm, maybe they could start with THEIR OWN CRAPPY WIRELESS CARDS
