try to reconnect an USB key Wifi Alcaltel tct 0700

Postby jaguar1637 » Fri Dec 16, 2016 15:36

Hi all

I was successfull yesterday to make my wifi Alcaltel TCT/0700 3g running up, on Sabayon Mate rel 4.8.0 / ACER Aspire 64bits.
I got access to Internet, w/ my phone SIM card put inside

Today I tried today to plug in the USB Wifi key, I got 4 usb on my laptop,
if I reboot the whole OS, the system does not recognize anymore my key !
I am trying to plug the USB wifi key on one of the 4 USB on laptop
Nothing!

Is there any checklist or HOWTO procedure ?
any ideas ?

TIA

Now, each time, I try to plug on the Wifi usb key on every Usb port,
the Mobile Broadband displays

"Not Enabled"

Now, if I reboot, I got the message " Free Mobile UTMS"

I am wandering if the Keyring is involved, bcoz the first time, I made it working fine, I was at a MacDonnalds w/ a direct wifi connection.
If I launch Google Chrome, I got this message
=> Enter password for keyring "Default keyring" to unlock
I jus tput 'ppp' as password
so, now if I go inside the Control Center, and if I try to edit the Mobile Broadband connection , I got the following message

Error initializing editor
Connection didn't have resquested setting 'ppp'

Is there any conflicts or side-effects due to the "Default Keyring" there ??

So, now, I just deleted the connection and restart the laptop (sabatyon Mate
I reboot the PC and launch the Set up a Mobile Broadband connection

The icon on top displays
Free Mobile Free-Mobile (Free Mobile UTMS)
no PIN code asked , so the connection does not work

so.. any ideas ?

any ideas ?
