No working Firewall on recent install Disk?

Postby andreios » Fri Jan 16, 2015 15:32

I have setup a new Sabayon System from the daily DVD.
After installing I have setup the SSHD to listen on an non standard port.
I have opened this port with ufw.
Everything runs fine.

But after every restart I have no remote access to this computer anymore because iptales is setup to not let me in. I have to flush all iptables rules to get access.
But the strange thing is, i have even uninstalled ufw and also firewalld << don#t know why this was installed, but no change!

So what script is it that manipulates iptables rules on boot?

How did you 'uninstall' firewalld? Apparently it is not sufficient to do:

Code: Select all
sytemctl disable firewalld

You need to do:

Code: Select all
sytemctl mask firewalld

Then you can install, enable and configure ufw.

On an test System I have just diasabled and uninstalled both ufw and firewalld.
This has work on an test system with virtualbox, but not on this system for some reason.
