my new laptop, thinkpad t430u, has a piece of crap broadcom adaptor in it.
its horrid. its slow and its just broken.

i have a old wifi modules i can instrall in its place. intel 2230bnhmw

pls advise.

Should work fine. Intel wireless is usually a safe bet with Linux. It requires the iwlwifi driver, so, after installing the device and booting, make sure that module is loaded (use the lsmod command as root user). The necessary configuration parameters are selected in the SL kernel, so you should find it works without issue. It also needs the microcode (a.k.a. firmware), so make sure the linux-firmware package is also installed (install it if necessary).
