Enter with localhost from WAN

Postby Matte88 » Tue Mar 05, 2013 16:31

How can I achieve that?
I mean, is possible to - let's say in WebUIs (SWAT, Transmission Web-Interface, others) - type localhost:PORTNUMBER or 127.0.0.1:PORTNUMBER in the browser of remote PC?

no. you can't.

to connect from host 1 to host 2 you must tyoe "host2" with its nameserver or its IPLan :mrgreen:

localhost or 127.0.0.1 is

see /etc/hosts if you want a custom name server

To customize "host2" loggin in and edit /etc/hosts :mrgreen:

see http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Complete_Ha ... hosts_file

Example
your Transmission,Ktooren,Vuze or something else run on 192.168.0.3

192.168.0.3 is your host1

edit /etc/hosts in "host1" and set whatever you want

192.168.0.3 matteo host1 pc1
save and exit

run your torrent client and makesure that web-ui interface in set properly.

from your "host2" (192.168.0.4)

http://matteo:{port_number}
or
http://192.168.0.3:{port_numebr}
or
http://pc1:{port_numeber}

to access web-ui
