No access to my wireless network device

Postby kantaki » Sat Feb 23, 2013 8:34

The first time I used sabayon with the live cd I had access to my wireless card though sabayon and I could easily connect to the internet.

Once I have installed sabayon it didn't recognize my device anymore. But when I tryped ip link set wlp3s0 up the device showed up properly and I could connect to the internet again.

Now I lost it again and I am unable to get it working.

I followed this guide http://wiki.sabayon.org/index.php?title ... king_Guide and I am a little bit confused.

the guide tells me to use lspci and to look for network controller. If I do that I have the following

Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6235 (rev23)

I have absolutely no idea what I should do now. The guide says I should do "emerge device name".

iwconfig tells me that the interface is called "wlp3s0", ifconfig tells me the same.

also iwlist wlp3s0 scan find my local network properly.

"Network Connections" doesn't show me anything. Any idea how I can get it working?

I am using the mate edition

Type this command in a root terminal to identify your network controller:
#lspci -v| grep Network
Post here the output.

I installed another version of Sabayon 11th In the past I had no problem with setting inetrnet link. Here, unfortunately, I have no idea how to connect to the Internet.
I do not know where to enter:
Username: RLAA 26th .... @ dialnet.pl
Password: ......
Please help me.

Need more information.
How you are connecting to the internet? With a router? or you use a USB key to connect?
In a root terminal type :
# lspci
# lsusb
# uname -a
# ifconfig
# route
and please post the complete output of the commands.
