No Internet connection

Postby fletcher » Thu Aug 05, 2010 13:19

I installed Sabayon 5.3 LXDE on my desktop computer yesterday, and it will not connect to the Internet. It says autoEtho connected, but will not connect otherwise. I have not been able to connect through LXTerminal, the repositories, or the browser. Internet works fine on my PeppermintOS partition, which I am using now to write this.

inxi -F output is:

Of course, those are in Peppermint. Please let me know if you need other info.

Not sure, but I notice the mention of the forcedeth driver in your output. Therefore have a look at the thread eth0 not working, forcedeth? [Solved] in case it is of help.

Those suggestions did not work. The computer tells me that the auto etho connection is established. And when I right-click on the network icon in the task bar, it says that networking is enabled.

I'm having the same problem in Fedora. It's really weird because I have never had a problem with any distro on this machine. I expect it from my mom's Dell with a Pentium 4, but not from my computer.

I wonder if it is either an ipv6 issue or an MTU issue, then. Check out the tests and suggestions in the thread Browser not working [Solved].
