Can't emerge knetwork manager

Postby aopisa » Wed Mar 19, 2008 3:24

I unmerged an old version of Knetworkmanager and tried to emerge the latest version. I have never encountered a portage issue before, but I get the error: Unable to find kernel sources at /usr/src/linux. I am running 3.4 mini and my kernel is 2.6.22-sabayon. I now know that the mini version omitted the source listing, I tried following the posts on emerging sources, etc. but have gotten nowhere. I'm waiting for 3.5 to work out th kinks and will be updating, but for now just want my network front end back.

OK- I found the post with the whole upgrade the kernel thing. I don't want to go through all of that just to get Knetworkmanager back. My 3.4 mini is tweaked pretty well and running fine. As I said I will be upgrading to 3.5 eventually so I don't want to rebuild everything for one app. Is there some other networking front end I can emerge to get either my ethernet or wireless to fire up at start-up? Thanks.

for a lot of things you will need sources - it's not that hard to just upgrade the kernel
