Can't get network functioning

Postby Quix » Sat Jan 26, 2008 2:27

Hi all,

Id just did a fresh install of the x64 version. All was sweet after I set the xorg.conf file to use vesa and not nv for the graphics.

Now the only problem I've come up against that's stumped me is I can't seem to get my eth0 network to function. Ive created manually via net-setup. I've create a "net" file from the sample incorporating:
MAC address
DNS servers
Gateway
DCHP
MTU size

Even set Static IP, static DHCP to MAC address on the router and tried it. No go.

The net.eth0 starts fine. ifconfig shows fine, but I can't for the life of me get out of the PC. My gateway is a router WRT54g and is hardwired and I get "destination unreachable" although it's directly connected. I searched for a firewall config and process and couldn't see one.

This has me well and truly stumped so any guidance would be much appreciated.

Cheers
