Code: Select all

Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)
I get the error above when I updated my laptop two weeks ago and this also happens when I install Sabayon from a stable build and update it. I tried 4 different kernels but no luck!
However, I also get dracut issue when I try to boot from a daily live-cd (Oct. 22). I've only tried Gnome.

Where is bootloader installed ?

Installed on partition (i.e. : /dev/sda1 ) or MBR (i.e. : /dev/sda) ?

It is installed on /dev/sda1. I didn't change any installation settings, so everything is default.

The bootloader on partition (/dev/sda1) should be the problem

Try to install the bootloader on MBR (first 512 bytes of disk /dev/sda)
