I hadn't seen this thread before I posted that I had the same problem with all of the monthly July images as well as all the dailies from July 10th 2017.

I'm sorry to say that I still had the same problem with starting (opening) liveinst. I did the recommendations by Fitz:
sabayonino wrote:sys-libs/libselinux is missing.

from live , update repo and install sys-libs/libselinux

then run the installer

When I started again, the liveinst didn't open either, The message was still the same:
Code: Select all
selinux not found or active

But then I had an idea. I check for 'selinux' in Sabayon repo with:
Code: Select all
equo s libselinux

and found this:
Code: Select all
╠  @@ Suche...

...which means, there are TWO libselinux version. So then I simply installed sys-libs/selinux-2.3-r2:
Code: Select all
equo i sys-libs/libselinux-2.3-r2

... don't care about libselinux-2.5, and, voilà, see the wonder, now the liveinst window appears.

Hope, I could help those, who still have the same problem.

all is fixed in daily *-dev images
see https://bugs.sabayon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5432#c10

I can confirm

so , libselinux for -dev images is "2.6"
