13.04 installation crash

Post by Josako » Thu Jul 25, 2013 17:01

Hi all

I have a strange problem trying to install on an older laptop. I have tried installing 13.04 KDE in both 32- en 64-bit versions, and 13.04 LXDE in 32-bit version. I have tried installing both from the UI (the live image starts up correctly in all cases) and commandline using installer. In all cases, the installer stops at 70-80% installation without a warning, and the machine shuts down. So I have no debugging data available.

The laptop: sony vaio VGN-CR21S
Processor: Intel Core2 DUO T7250 @ 2.00 GHz
Drive: SATA
Memory: 2GB
Screen size: 1280x800px
Graphics card: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)

I did check my downloads and the burned images. I installed other PCs with the given DVDs (except the 32-bit KDE version).
I have no further information for now, since the laptop shuts down when the error occurs.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards,

Pieter

Have you tried it with a monthly release? 13.08 perhaps?
