notebook hangs on waiting for udev uevents to be processed

Postby apiaio » Wed Feb 03, 2010 11:25

Today, after fresh installation, I was trying to install my wireless BCM4312 following http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.php?title=Using_the_new_b43_driver. Since I populated blacklist.conf notebook hangs during startup. Neither removing b43 and ssb from blacklist.conf did not help. I succeeded booting in the safe mode, but not every time. Sometimes it freezes as well, but on stage
udevd-work[5192]: device node '/dev/mapper/control' already exists, link to '/dev/mapper/control' will not overwrite it

help needed

that page is old; the b43 driver should be working without all the fiddling now. Please revert all your configuration changes to standard.
