Postby Revollti » Tue Oct 06, 2009 9:40

Hi,

i tried to install sabayon 5.0 and there were an error message (i dont have the log sorry). So i installed it again, everything was fine. But when im starting the system there is an error message and i cant handle it: "Could not mount specified ROOT..." or something like that. Look at the picture, there is everthing.

What can i do now? Whatever im doing i cant boot from the DVD :(

well, that's quite exciting. It seems something went wrong when you were setting up your partitioning scheme or installing GRUB. At that root prompt, type /dev/sdax, where x is the number of the partition that you chose as root, and press enter - that should get you most of the way into your computer. If you can't remember where root is, just cycle through the numbers (1-9) until one works for you. When you actually get into your computer, post back here - we've got some major grub editing to do to get you booting properly again.
