video mode fglrx

Post by carloslosgrande » Mon Oct 01, 2007 0:10

Hi, first time here. Just downloaded and burned the dvd for sabayon business edition 1.0
Everything goes fine until I get this;
cannot display this video mode
optimum resolution 1280x1024 60 Hz

I noticed during my second attempt this error;
sabayon/video/fglrx file not found
I searched fglrx here and found an entry that said go to;
sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
and look for driver=fglrx and change it to driver=radeon and then save, exit and type gdm then login.
but this was for a different ATI card than mine, also is it gdm or xdm?
I have an ATI Radeon X600. I run Ubuntu 7.04 and this same original error shows (ie cannot display this video mode etc,etc), but then it just continues on to setup and I have no trouble with it.
So I've tried this fix and no difference. Also tried adding in resolution 1280x1024, without result.
Obviously I'm doing it all wrong. :?
What should I be doing?
