The colours definetally need to change, simple as that, the colours are to bright and clash to much.

Compare
http://www.wellstyled.com/tools/colorsc ... .75;0.75;0

to this (contrasting hard to look at colours (aka this forum))
http://www.wellstyled.com/tools/colorsc ... ;1;0.6;1;0

The first imo is so much easier to look at.

And ... I know that you have to get some money for your project: But these advertisement "entries" in the threads are really bothering me ... they break the reading flow ...
I don't think that more people will spend money when they get these two big icons presented on each and every page ...
Do you even think that these phpBB devs let people use their old theme with the new version?
There isn't any other quick way to put them on the pages. Sorry.

Given enough information I could probably prove (in fact someone probably already has) that a high number of ads on single page will get you no more revenue than 2-3 ads on a single page.

On a single page, you only have one chance at clicking an ad as its supposed to open on the same page your currently viewing (its in Google's TOS somewhere) and in most cases anyway people are unlikely to click on an ad more than once or twice a day on a single site unless there trying to cheat the ad company.

You also have to consider that ads put people off coming to a site, there plenty of sites out there where ive loaded it up then left without reading anything because its just full of ads, more than two ads on a single page and i start wondering what the site owners goals are for the site, information or just trying to make some money.

Everyone understands you have to make money and the ads are a part of that but you really need to be careful not to go overboard because it not only puts people off coming to the site it will put people off clicking the ads int he first place.

On a side note why is bbcode switched off for me?

Image <--new posts
Image <-- no new posts

Image <--sticky unread

icon ideas - if you want I can make a complete set using this style of icons - just have to say the word

or we could use the set of icons like:
Image <-- no new posts
Image <--new posts

Image <--sticky unread
Image <--sticky read

Image <--announce unread
Image <--announce read

Just some ideas

The "(no) new posts" icons of both themes look great (though I would prefer this pen for it ;)). But for the sticky ones, I can't see the "sticky" part in there (esp the first theme ... what should that icon display?)

btw: @lxnay: could it be, that the reply-notification is broken?

BBCode must be enabled in your profile, don't know why frankly
I'm testing topic reply notification right now
I'll integrate wolfden icons as soon as I have some time :)
